May 26-27: The ECJS is based in Brussels, so I was quite looking forward to meeting Sarah Ives, our tour co-ordinator. The schedule was tight for this stop. David was to arrive at the airport and be taken straight from the airport to the venue for the talk. But naturally, the plane was delayed and when we arrived, there was no sign 
of anyone to pick us up (that was because the somewhat strange taxi driver was sitting in a far corner, with the sign on his lap). After some considerable drama we arrived in time to start the talk. There was only a small group (quite a few Israelis), but they seemed very much to enjoy themselves.Brussels won hands-down on worst hotel. We didn't get a chance to try any of the chocolate (big bummer). I think my red-eyes scared a few people!
As we literally flew in that evening; David spoke, we ate, slept and then left on the train first thing the next morning, our insight into the Jewish community of Brussels was fairly minimal.
