CHAG IN JERUSALEM

Despite living in Israel, we were most upset to realise that there we had nowhere to build a sukkah and the approach of Sukkot brought more feelings of disappointment than enthusiasm. For some reason, Tel Aviv doesn't really do Sukkot which is a real shame ...and rather sad. Fortunately, our own personal disappointment didn't last so long as we were once again invited to join the Newman family in Jerusalem for chag. Josh had built a wonderful sukkah and we had a beautiful chag with Josh, Marlo, Josh's brother Moses and the boys...and glorious weather in Old Katamon.

We were back in Jerusalem, this time in the Old City, for Shmini Atzeret/Simchat Torah as the guests of Tovia Singer who arranged for us to stay in an out-of-this world apartment literally opposite the Kotel. The experience was amazing and being by the Kotel was incredible. Because we stayed an extra night we made sure to take a few pictures.
