REVELATION & REVOLUTION

December 2008

The Women in Jewish History series kicked off what was to become four/five months of intensive teaching around the country, most of which also brought to life a collection of amazing lectures, most of which were original.

In December, David delivered his fantastic new series on the the Eighteenth Century called Revelation & Revolution over four weeks. This was a fantastic series and incredibly popular. If you want to get a taste for it, you can hear David's interviews with Tovia (Singer) here and here.

December also started the 'Modiin' project. Ruth Rose (the sister of David's sister-in-law, Linda) who lives in Modiin organised for David to give The Whole of Jewish History in One Hour in at her shul. Our first foray into this adolescent city turned out to be a success, with much thanks to Ruth.

On the subject of The Whole of Jewish History in One Hour, we also ran our first session at Yakar Tel Aviv, premiering this very lecture in Hebrew in our home town. But my choice of timing was extremely flawed (the last night of Chanukah) and we had the worst crowd we had ever had for this talk (only ten people). Thankfully, things were to improve with this crowd in the coming months, but it was very disappointing.
