In the middle of this week (Wednesday night), David also gave the second of his three-part Kabbalah series, this time on ‘the soul’. Really very interesting talk; full house, new faces… all good. Sadly, I forgot to take a pic (bad Marjorie).
Danny Monde came along that evening and hung out with us after the talk. He was kind enough to come back to our apartment and help us finish off the remaining array of smoke salmon that Mark had bought us for the previous Shabbat - part of his campaign to make us fat! I forgot to take a picture...
I also neglected to photographically record the wonderful dinner we had with Kirk on Thursday night. Kirk drove up from Vineland and we had a fantastic meal at Deli Kasbah, which, incidentally, while providing fantastic steaks at a reasonable (by kosher standards) price, also happens to be a hard core messianic Chabad restaurant.
Later that night, David went with Kirk to meet Barak Begleiter and took the two of them to visit the Chulent scene down in the East Village (see New York Times article on Chulent from earlier this year). Naturally, no pictures were taken. Barak and Belinda are in the States for the week and we are catching up with them for dinner on Monday night - really looking forward to seeing them.
