The other factor that was dominating our September was the absurd and nightmarish negotiations and machinations we had to go through in order to finally receive our shipping. I can not even begin to recreate the emotional strain that this unpleasant drama created for us, but suffice to say that we were several miles past the point of relief when our stuff finally arrived in our flat on October 1st. The unpleasantness did not end with that delivery, but at least we finally had our personal effects after almost a year's separation from them. And while we try to think that we live a fairly free and unencumbered existence, this torturous process revealed that we are, in fact, very attached to our books and our few other possessions. Another reason not to move countries again...

THE DRAMA OF MATERIAL POSSESSIONS
