A big perk of being back in New York is that we have been able to catch up with friends. Here are a bit of a social summary and some pictures:

We had lunch with Evonne Marzouk, CEO of
Canfei Nesharim (an amazing organisation which raises awareness of environmental issues within the Orthodox Jewish world). We met Evonne at
Limmud NY and it was great that she happened to be in New York while we were here (she is based in Washington).

Here is a pic of David with
Mark in the sublet he found for us in the Upper West Side. We have been hanging out with Mark lots while we are here, which is great…but he has been on a singular mission to make us fat (and he is succeeding!)!
We have, of course, seen
Jonathan Adam Ross and his girlfriend Jen. No pictures of these two at the moment unfortunately, but if you are desperate to see pics, you can click on
John's website.

But we do have a pic of Jonathan's old flat mate,
Deanna Neal. We were delightedly surprised that Deanna came to David's Sunday Kabbalah overview for the
JCC and so, naturally, had to go for a drink with her afterwards, where we were later joined by Jonathan and a few of his mates, including
Naomi Less who is working on an interesting music project…to create a mainstream Jewish chick band…
We have also seen
Aviva: had a special nostalgic dinner at
Kosher Delight in Midtown with Aviva and indulged in our pre-determined (and predictable!) menu... and, on another occasion, even met her parents, who came along to see Everything a Jew Should Know at the
92Y.
I also caught up with
Corrine Kolhmeyer-Hyman - this year's co-chair of
Limmud New York (we met her and her husband Michael at
Limmud UK last December and Corrine and I have been friends ever since). We had lunch together at one of the many kosher diary Indian restaurants around Lexington Avenue and the 20s - a ritual that it is becoming a tradition now. Not only is Corrine co-chairing the fourth year of
Limmud New York, but she is also expecting a baby in about three months...a few weeks after Limmud NY.
